I just finished my work on my ebook and sent it to the formatter. I celebrated by taking my wife to lunch and kicking back for today.

WHO IS THIS GUY ANYWAY?

Rick Cook's first article appeared in a local magazine in 1968. It earned him an A in his magazine writing course. Discovering how easy it is to make money writing magazine articles warped him forever.

Over the next 40 years he discovered it really wasn't all that easy, but he kept at it. After about a decade working for newspapers and the Associated Press as a reporter and editor, he finally went freelance full time.

He has been a full-time freelance writer for more than 25 years, specializing in computers and high technology. He has written literally thousands of articles which have appeared in magazines and websites both major and obscure.

He has also been a columnist for publications ranging from Linux World to Model Retailer and written everything from advertorials to white papers in addition to conventional articles. He has also taught magazine writing.

Although his specialty is computers and technology, he has written for a wide variety of publications from Black Belt to Garden World. As he says, he'll write "whatever they'll pay me for."

In addition to non-fiction, he has published several novels. "Mostly fantasy novels full of bad computer jokes." He pauses and then asks: "Is there such a thing as a good computer joke?"
